BLOGS in the Classroom

When we first got this assignment, I will be honest, I kept putting it off and off, because it just seemed like a lot of busy work; however I am really enjoying reading everyone's different strategies and posts. I am planning on using some of them in my classroom!

Also, Steve was telling us in our Business Methods class about using blogs in his classroom for his students. He had each student create a blog and then respond to a prompt or current event. Then each student would respond to some of their classmates blogs. I think this is a great teaching tool and it integrates technology that most of these students love to do!

I am going to try to set up BLOGS for the students in my classroom!

  1. Sounds like a good idea. Even Grandma is going to have to learn to blog.

  3. I was resistant about blogging too but I can see the value of sharing ideas. It did not occur to me to have my students blog as well. It might be a nice way for them to communicate about work, assignments and other things too. Students do indeed love technology so they probably would like this idea.

  5. Blogs are fun to read when the information is either short and sweet or is interesting and engaging. To tell you the truth I can't read blogs entries that are really long unless they initial draw my attention. If you are going to have your students make their own blogs, tell them to make the entries interesting and engaging in the first few lines. Let's get away from "blah, blah, blogs".
